SUPERCRITICAL FLUID EXTRACTOR
The supercritical fluid extractor was designed and built for the extraction of essential oils from organic matter. The design uses Carbon Dioxide (CO2) in its supercritical state to deliver an inherently safe, food-grade extract, and features closed-loop control of extraction temperature, and pressure, to extract specific targeted compounds. Operating at pressures up to 3,500 psi, the extractor uses certified, commercially-available high pressure components, eliminating the need for costly fabrication.
The design operates in a closed-loop fashion, where CO2 is continuously recycled, rather than vented. Operating from a single-phase 220V outlet, the extractor is capable of generating a flow rate of up to 5 CFM of cupercritical CO2.
